Who can think of Cape Ann landscapes without its majestic granite rocks? In this one-day workshop, visit Cape Ann Granite by Edward Hopper in the Cape Ann Gallery and learn how to create your own landscape compositions. Students will observe how Hopper interpreted granite’s massive, boulder-like volumes and look at many of his additional landscapes paintings in an image lecture. With this in mind, students make 2 to 3 drawings from a mini-landscape model using smaller pieces of granite in the CAM Studio  

Amy Sudarsky is a figurative painter who has exhibited in Boston, New York and San Francisco. For more than 35 years, she has taught painting and drawing courses at Boston University, Lesley University, The Art Institute of Boston and Washington University in St. Louis.  In 2018, she curated the exhibition “In Her Own Image; Self Portraits by Women 1900-2018,” at the Concord Center for the Arts. In 2020, she was the juror for “Beyond Likeness: Exploring the Portrait” at Rocky Neck Art Colony. Currently, she teaches Portrait and Figure Drawing workshops at Rocky Neck Cultural Center.
