Laid Down on Paper: Printmaking in America, 1800 to 1865 was offered in conjunction with the special exhibition Drawn from Nature & On Stone: The Lithographs of Fitz Henry Lane and Fitz Henry Lane Online, a resource tool created by the Cape Ann Museum. The symposium featured papers by seven scholars working in fields related to printmaking during the era of Gloucester’s native son, Fitz Henry Lane (1804–1865).
