MSONewSports: Cape Ann Museum Welcomes Two New Members to Its Board of Trustees

GLOUCESTER– Cape Ann Museum has appointed Allison Mueller, Gloucester native and current Rockport resident, and Lindsay Pearce Cowan, MD, of Annisquam, to its Board of Trustees.
“Allison and Lindsay make excellent additions as advocates for Cape Ann Museum,” says the Museum’s Director Oliver Barker. “Their expertise will be an asset as the Museum continues moving toward its next chapter with a broadening reach and expanded relevance within the Cape Ann community and beyond.”
“We are so delighted to bring on such talented and deeply connected members of our community to join the current Board of Trustees,” says Henrietta Gates, Chair of the Museum’s Board of Trustees. “Through the Museum’s next phase of growth, Allison and Lindsay will bring vital experience, commitment and fresh perspectives – I greatly look forward to working with them both.”
Allison Mueller:
Mueller grew up in Gloucester and attended Gloucester Public Schools. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Marquette University, and a master’s degree in Teaching from Simmons College.
As an active volunteer in a variety of North Shore nonprofit organizations, she is committed to making a difference in the communities and institutions that are important to her and her family. She currently serves on the board of Pathways for Children and as vice chair on the board of Backyard Growers. Mueller volunteers and has held leadership roles in other organizations including Wellspring House, Awesome Gloucester, and Brookwood School.
Lindsay Pearce Cowan:
Cowan was born at the Addison Gilbert Hospital and currently lives in Annisquam. She attended Glen Urquhart School, Pingree School, and then Bowdoin College for a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
As a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, Cowan did her residency in the Harvard system including a one-year internship at Cambridge Hospital, four years of Radiology Residency at Mount Auburn Hospital, and a one-year Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging and Intervention at Brigham. Wanting to practice close to home in Gloucester, Cowan works with Beverly Radiology Associates and currently covers Addison Gilbert and Beverly Hospital.
In 2025, the Cape Ann Museum Green campus is hosting a robust offering of exhibitions and programs. This shift to year-round access, programs and exhibitions at CAM Green includes expanded weekly hours, free admission, and timed ticketing to welcome more visitors to experience the space while the Museum’s Downtown campus on Pleasant Street is closed for extensive renovations to improve visitor access and engagement.
