The Second Saturday of each month, the Cape Ann Museum is free for all Cape Ann Residents. Visitors of all ages are invited to head to the CAM Studio during their visit to participate in a new art project.
Learn about the history of granite quarrying on Cape Ann and what made Cape Ann granite so desirable all through the 19th century. Then, join CAM Educators to make a rubbing using a real piece of stone, create a drawing of granite statues using texture plates and other texture-making tools, and listen to a storybook. Visit QuarryArt, a new exhibition at CAM Green of photographs exploring the beauty and environmental importance of the granite quarries of Cape Ann.
