Guided Walk of 1960s Downtown Gloucester
Saturday, September 7
11:45 a.m. 12:45 p.m.
Join a walk from the Museum’s courtyard down “Pleasure Street” to the “Morality Square” of Jonathan Bayliss’s fiction and then along nearby streets. You’ll tread in the footsteps of Bayliss’s fictional characters and experience this part of “Dogtown” of the 1960s. The tour will be led by Gloucester native Jonathan Parsons, who will point out locations of long-gone fondly remembered buildings as well as those that look almost the same today. Sponsored by the Jonathan Bayliss Society in conjunction with the 10:30 a.m. program “The Downtown Gloucester of Jonathan Bayliss’s Fiction.” Free to the public; no registration necessary; held rain or shine.
