The Cape Ann Museum is proud to host the Cape Ann Poets for selected readings from Tide Lines, a poetry collection which celebrates of the beauty of Cape Ann’s dramatic coast as well as offers commentary, both humorous and poignant, on the complications of their Yankeeland lives.

The Cape Ann Poets are a small group of writers who meet bi-weekly to give each other inspiration, support, and advice. The group has met continuously since 1986 and has published three books of poetry: Living Proof, Between the Sounds, and A Feast of Cape Ann Poets which they shared with CAM Book Club last year.

The group originated when enthusiastic members of Rockport poet Valery Nash's college level writing class wished to continue meeting at the course’s conclusion. After the sad loss of Valery in 2005, the group was led by a teacher who gave assignments and critiqued members’ poems.

Please join the Cape Ann Poets as they celebrate both the beauty and complexities of life on Cape Ann. To further enjoy their poetry, pick up a copy of TIDE LINES from the CAM Shop and join the CAM Book Club on Thursday, December 16 at 10:30 am.

Cape Ann Poets Members:

Suellen Wedmore, Carol Seitchik, Wally Rowe, Jennie Meyer, Ruth Maassen, Martha Fox, Mary Cole, Joy Halsted and Bob Whelan
