Join Museum docents for mini-tours throughout the day designed specifically to showcase various aspects of the collection. Space is limited – first come, first served. Specific tour times and subjects are listed below. Free for Museum members, youth 18 and under, and Cape Ann residents; otherwise included with Museum admission.

1:15 p.m.   Wood You?

Wood is a natural substance often taken for granted. This tour highlights several objects in the museum collection from everyday kitchen implements, magnificent examples of furniture, a cigar store indian and sculptures by James McClellan. Tour will be led by Bruce Jones.

2:00 p.m.   Down in the Quarries
A look at some Cape Ann artists who were inspired by the quarries and the people whose livelihood depended on this thriving industry. Tour will be led by Hazel Von Rosenvinge.

2:45 p.m.   Jinnee says “Do It!”
A closer look at Virginia Lee Burton as educator. From summer camp instructor to Folly Cove Design Visionary, “Jinnee” never stopped teaching. Tour will be led by Mary Rhinelander.
