After a year and a half of being closed, the Cape Ann Museum Library & Archives is beyond thrilled to announce that it will finally be reopening its doors at 27 Pleasant Street this September.

Starting with a Member’s Preview the evening of Thursday, September 9, and continuing with a Community Open House on Friday, September 10, we cannot wait to welcome everyone back and show off what we’ve been up to.

From a fresh coat of paint to a complete remodeling of the space, we’ve really tried to brighten things up and make the CAM Library & Archives a welcome and enjoyable space to visit and to do research.

On Thursday, Sept 9 from 5-7pm, we welcome CAM Members for our Grand Reopening event. Librarian & Archivist, Trenton Carls will be giving tours of the new layout, discussing projects from the past year, displaying recent acquisitions, and sharing what’s the horizon for the CAM Library & Archives. We will have live music by local jazz musician Steve Lacey, light refreshments, and a small used book sale taking place in the atrium. We’ll be spinning our favorite Cape Ann records and looking at archives-based exhibits, both in person and digital in the Library. The CAM Library Volunteer team will be on hand to discuss projects they’ve been working on and to answer any questions.
