To celebrate the opening of this new exhibition, CAM members are invited to observe Robert Shure and Lisa Benson, from Skylight Studios, as they conserve Walker Hancock’s bust of Abraham Lincoln. Hancock was commissioned to create a statue of Abraham Lincoln in 1978 for the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and a plaster bust which was created as part of that project will undergo conservation treatment in the gallery. 

Portrait of a Sculptor: Walker Hancock & Michael Lafferty

Walker Hancock was one of the premier American sculptors of the 20th century and a highly engaged and respected member of the Cape Ann community. Michael Lafferty is a skilled photographer who spent hours photographing Hancock in his Lanesville studio. This exhibit will combine the work of Lafferty and Hancock.
