In 2021, the North of Boston Media Group and the Gloucester Daily Times donated an estimated one million photographs to the Cape Ann Museum. In advance of the Museum’s recent exhibition, Above the Fold: The Photographers of the “Gloucester Daily Times,” 1973-2005, rapid processing occurred to arrange prints and negatives. Much of the collection still remains in their original boxes and work continues to rehouse these items in acid-free, archivally safe products.  

Join Head Librarian & Archivist Trenton Carls as he leads this workshop on rehousing and resorting this vast photo archive. Attendees will be asked to join in on the fun and work on a box of their choosing. If you or a friend’s photo was ever in the paper between 1973-2005, please bring that date and we can try to find the image in the collection while processing!
