Enjoy free admission to the Cape Ann Museum every First Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Each month, CAM partners with Rockport Brewing Co for a free beer tasting and with a practicing, contemporary artist to interpret the Museum’s collections. Enjoy a taste of local beer and watch art come to life through dance, music, performance, painting, and more.  

This January, the Museum will be filled with lights, music, and dance to start the New Year. At 6:00 pm, dancers from MAGMA’s residency with choreographer Heather Stewart will perform. Heather Stewart is the Director of little house dance based in Portland, Maine. Following the performance, MAGMA’s Director Sarah Swift will lead a New Year Warm Up for all attendees to kick start the evening’s ongoing dance party in the CAM Auditorium. Our DJs, Zach and Jason, bring a unique and fully analogue listening experience with their selection of obscure and forgotten records. They are behind various past events on the North Shore, such as Down the Tracks, Mondo A Go Go and occasionally sitting in as members of Salem Funk Club. With their tireless pursuit of the coolest and most obscure sounds, their record collections combined make for one of the most diverse soundscapes you can imagine. They dare you to resist the urge to dance!
