A Conversation with Deanie Hancock and Jonathan Fairbanks, Cape Ann Museum, 7:00 p.m.

Saturday September 27

Guided Tours of A Chosen Place: Hancock and Friends, Cape Ann Museum, 10:30 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. / 1:30 p.m. / 2:30 p.m.

The Monuments Men – Free showing of the film, Cape Ann Community Cinema, 2:30 p.m.

Talk by Robert Edsel, author of both the book and film The Monuments Men – Gloucester City Hall, 7:00 p.m. Mr. Edsel is founder of the Monuments Men Foundation, which works to “raise public awareness of the importance of protecting and safeguarding civilization’s most important artistic and cultural treasures from armed conflict.” Meet and greet and book signing by Mr. Edsel to follow talk. Free and open to the public (donations appreciated).

Sunday September 28

Guided Tours of A Chosen Place: Hancock and Friends, Cape Ann Museum, 1:30 p.m. / 2:30 p.m.

The Monuments Men – Free showing of the film, Cape Ann Community Cinema, 1:30 p.m.

Panel discussion ”Memories of Walker Hancock”, Gloucester City Hall, 3:00 p.m. Panelists include: Moderator Sinikka Nogello (local artist and former director, Cape Ann TV), Deanie Hancock (Walker Hancock’s daughter), Lee Kingman Natti (Hancock’s sister-in-law), Walker Flint (Hancock’s nephew) and Gloria Parsons (Hancock’s long time cook and housekeeper) and Daniel Altshuler (sculptor and last protégée of Walker Hancock). Additional panelists to be announced. Free and open to the public.
