Enjoy free concerts in the Cape Ann Museum Courtyard on Thursdays between July 11 and August 29 from 5:00-6:30 pm. These weekly concerts are presented as part of the city-wide  Culture Splash, an event series where Gloucester’s two cultural districts, Rocky Neck Cultural District and Harbortown Cultural District, join forces to celebrate and promote the local vibrant cultural organizations, creative groups and individuals, galleries, artists and non-profits.  

The CAM Courtyard Concerts feature local and regional musicians from a wide variety of musical genres. The Museum will be open with free admission during Culture Splash from 4:00 – 6:30 pm. The concerts will be cancelled if there is rain. Limited outdoor seating will be provided by the Museum, come early to reserve your seat or bring your own lawn chair to ensure a spot! 

Families are invited to join the Museum for free family programming starting at 3:00 pm on Thursdays. Movement @ the Museum will be offered on July 11 and August 29 and Art & Sensory for Ages 3 – 10 will be offered every Thursday from July 19 – August 22. After the CAM Courtyard Concerts, follow the Culture Splash Gallery Stroll from the Museum’s galleries down Pleasant Street and across Main Street to enjoy Gloucester’s commercial galleries. These include, but are not limited to: Jane Deering Gallery, M / M Contemporary Art, Beth Williams Studio, Cindy Efinger, Matthew Swift, Charles Fine Arts, Amend / Bish Gallery, Local Colors, Jon Sarkin, and Jeff Weaver.

 About the Musicians:

Described by most as a singer-songwriter with an old soul, Alexandra Grace lays her thought-provoking lyrics atop a bed of folk-influenced music, creating whimsical stories in song-form.  

Alexandra began performing at a very young age. She first fell in love with jazz while studying tap dancing at the age of 6. She discovered the genres of indie pop and folk as a teenager and soon after she began writing her own songs. Some of her influences include Hozier, Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver, Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday. She is also inspired by classic folklore, mythology, and fairytales.  

Alexandra graduated from Berklee College of Music in May 2020. Since then, she has performed around the New England area and released 2 EPs, ‘Solstice’ and ‘The Archer’. Her songs have landed on some well known playlists and radio stations, and were awarded “Song of The Week” from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, as well as Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. She is currently self-producing a full length album, “Living in a Painting’’, which is inspired by her favorite visual artists.  

When not writing or performing music, Alexandra runs a music school in Rockport, Alexandra Grace Music, and teaches lessons in voice, songwriting, piano, and guitar. For more info, visit www.alexandragracemusic.com
