A Guided Tour of Historic Downtown Manchester

Clustered around Central Square in Manchester-by-the-Sea are a number of significant public buildings and historic homes. On your tour you will visit the iconic First Parish Church, the Public Library (a gift to the town by Thomas Jefferson Coolidge), Seaside No.1 (the town’s first fire house containing vintage equipment) and a variety of private homes and commercial buildings representing a myriad of architectural styles from Colonial to Gothic Revival.
