Youth and Family Programs

The Museum welcomes children and families, teachers and students, to explore the area's rich culture and history. Attend a performance, take part in an art project in the Children's Activity Center or bring your classroom for a specialized tour.

Saturday Showcase

With Saturday Showcase we turn the spotlight on performing art, history, and culture. The day begins with a thematic presentation in our Folly Cove Auditorium, outdoor sculpture park and garden, and even our historic White-Ellery House.  The program is supplemented with drop-in art and history activities in the Activity Center. No reservations required. This popular program is made possible by the Goldhirsh Foundation. Offered on select Saturdays – please visit our events page for dates and times.

Family Fun Free Day

The second Saturday of every month is free for families with school-aged children. Families are invited to the Activity Center to participate in art, history, and cultural activities, and explore the museum using a Seek and Find. Each month has a different theme, from exhibitions, to special celebrations, to treasures from the Archives. It's all about FUN!

Meet Me at the Museum

Drop off your 6-12 year olds for a special class where art, history, and culture come together through gallery tours and art activities. This is perfect for families who homeschool.
