The Museum will be closed on Sunday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day.

Youth and Family Programs

The Museum welcomes children and families, teachers and students, to explore the area's rich culture and history. Attend a performance, take part in an art project in the Children's Activity Center or bring your classroom for a specialized tour.

Saturday Showcase

With Saturday Showcase we turn the spotlight on performing art, history, and culture. The day begins with a thematic presentation in our Folly Cove Auditorium, outdoor sculpture park and garden, and even our historic White-Ellery House.  The program is supplemented with drop-in art and history activities in the Activity Center. No reservations required. This popular program is made possible by the Goldhirsh Foundation. Offered on select Saturdays beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Family Fun Free Day

The second Saturday of every month is free for families with school-aged children. Families are invited to the Activity Center to participate in art, history, and cultural activities, and explore the museum using a Seek and Find. Each month has a different theme, from exhibitions, to special celebrations, to treasures from the Archives. It's all about FUN!

Meet Me at the Museum

Drop off your 6-12 year olds for a special class where art, history, and culture come together through gallery tours and art activities. This is perfect for families who homeschool.  Offered on select Thursdays from 10:00-11:15 a.m. Free for members, $5 for non-members.

Morning at the Museum

In this summer program for children ages 6-12, students learn about the art, history and culture of Cape Ann through gallery explorations and projects based on a theme. Subjects include artists, artistic mediums, colors and hometown heroes. Reservations required. Offerd on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 8 weeks in July and August.
