This memorable presentation was originally given at the Annual Conference of the Costume Society of America in 1991. Newly revised, it is expanded to include the diary of Charlotte’s father, seafaring Captain Oliver Griffin Lane, Aunt Tots’ diary and “The Reminiscences of Aunt Tot,” a collection of Miss Lane’s writings.
